Only the best local beef for our Steak Night!

Our next ‘Cross Keys Big Nichts Oot’ is Steak Night on Friday 14th March. 

Nothing beats a perfectly cooked steak – especially when it’s quality meat sourced locally. So, to ensure our first Steak Night bursts with flavour and fresh, natural goodness, we’ve partnered with J. A. Waters & Sons Family Butchers in Selkirk who hands-down sell the best locally sourced beef around. With their farm to plate ethos, we know your steaks will be coming from nearby Scottish Borders farms who rear their cattle with the utmost care and attention. And that means that every steak is not only incredibly tasty but by buying local we’re also supporting the local community.

Chef Chris and the team taste-tested a few different cuts and settled on a 9oz succulent Sirloin Steak, which they’ll prepare to a medium-rare, melt in the mouth perfection, bringing out all the meat’s natural flavours with just the right seasoning and a perfect sear.

Keeping it classic, we’ll be serving the steaks with crispy French Fries, Roasted Tomatoes and Portobello Mushroom. £28 per person. 

For an extra treat, you’ll be able to add a few delicious sides like homemade Peppercorn Sauce, Onion Rings and fresh Salade Verte.

So come Friday 14th March, you’ll not only enjoy some of the best steak the Scottish Borders has to offer, you’ll also be able to wash it down with a pint of local Tempest ale or one of our tasty red wines.
