We are only a 40-minute drive away from Glentress Forest, where you and your adventurous little ones can try out the mountain bike trails and take a trip up some trees with Go Ape Peebles. Go Ape is a great way to make memories as a family, and it’s an ideal place to visit for any adrenaline junkies, and it is home to the highest zip wire in Scotland! A little further afield is Foxlake, where you can dive into some intense adrenaline-infused adventures.

For a closer day out, there is a playpark and tennis court in Ettrickbridge, plus we’re only a 12-minute drive from the absolutely stunning historic Bowhill House, which has something for every type of guest. Whether your little ones are interested in the adventure playground, or you’re interested in a house tour, or perhaps you and your friends want to take on a hike around the grounds – Bowhill House is full of character and is one of the gems of the Scottish Borders.

Anyone looking to try something new, or to get some riding practice in, we are also only a short journey from Ian Stark Equestrian Centre. Here you can enjoy a riding lesson at a BHS-approved centre. Furthermore, there are 500 acres of hacking with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It is a great way to see the spectacular scenery of the Borders.

Maybe all this adventurous stuff isn’t for you. And you’re coming to stay with us to relax, unwind, become one with nature. In which case, the Scottish Borders still has plenty to offer you. They have a large swimming pool with an exciting waterslide and a cafe for refuelling after a long swimming session.

If swimming isn’t for you, Scotland is absolutely packed full of museums. Not your standard history museum, either. We’ve got all sorts of unusual things to do in the Scottish Borders. Like the Great Tapestry of Scotland, only a 25-minute drive from your home-from-home in Ettrickbridge.
